News Topical, Digital Desk : A shocking incident has emerged from Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. A software engineer's online purchase of a mobile phone proved costly. The engineer claims he ordered a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 phone from Amazon for ₹1.86 lakh and made the full payment.

Upon receiving the order, he opened the box and found a piece of tile instead of the mobile phone. The young man immediately filed a complaint with the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP) and subsequently lodged a formal FIR at the Kumaraswamy Layout police station.

What did the police say?

Regarding this entire incident, police said that a software engineer claimed to have found a piece of tile in the box of a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 smartphone delivered to him after ordering it online for ₹1.86 lakh. Premanand, a resident of Yelachenahalli, filed a police complaint after the incident.

A piece of tile instead of a phone

According to the complaint, Premanand ordered the phone from an e-commerce platform on October 14 and paid online with his credit card. The package was delivered on October 19 at around 4:16 p.m. He recorded a video while opening the parcel and was shocked to find that instead of a high-end smartphone, there was only a square piece of white tile inside.

Police registered a case

Premanand first filed a complaint with the National Cyber ​​Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP) and later approached the local police, who registered an FIR under sections 318(4) (cheating) and 319 (cheating by impersonation) of the Indian Penal Code and section 66D (cheating by using computer resources to commit fraud by impersonation) of the Information Technology Act. Police said the investigation into the case was ongoing.
