While the lyrics were written by Anand Bakshi, the song was sung by Sapna Mukherjee and Amit Kumar. Sapna won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer for the song.

Sapna Mukherjee further said, "When I heard that my voice has been retained along with Amit Kumar ji's, I felt very honoured. This kind of respect for artists and their work is rarely seen. Today you can recreate a song, but you cannot change its 'soul'."
