In an exclusive conversation with us, Rajat Arora shares interesting facts about Dhurandhar, Aditya Dhar and his career.

When Dhurandhar was being made, did you think it would be such a big hit?

Rajat Arora said, "We didn't know it would be so successful, but we knew it would be. When we auditioned, we were told that Aditya Dhar sir would be directing it. We didn't even know the name of the movie, as it hadn't been named at that time.

Rajat Arora told that when he came to know that Aditya Dhar was going to direct the film, he was hopeful that the film would be successful because he had made a hit film like Uri.

Why did you decide to leave your banking job and enter acting?

Rajat Arora always wanted to make a name for himself in the acting world. He was active in theater and was about to enroll in NSD, but an accident changed his life. After the accident, Rajat was bedridden for a year. Meanwhile, he had also landed a banking job. So, he put acting aside and started working in banking.

After this, as soon as he got the opportunity, he moved to Mumbai and began acting alongside his work. Rajat Arora explained that he decided to quit his banking job three years ago and pursue acting full-time. His wife and family supported him immensely. Just a year after leaving his banking job, he cracked the audition for Dhurandhar.

How did you like working with Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna in Dhurandhar?

It was a great experience. When I met Ranveer sir for the first time, I was wondering how to talk to him. He said, "Welcome to the gang, Rajat." I was surprised that he knew my name. He was very warm. The same thing happened on March 19th. At the screening, as soon as he saw me from a distance, he called me over, hugged me, and took a photo.

Mukka was scared after meeting Akshay Khanna

Rajat Arora revealed that he was hesitant to talk to Akshaye Khanna, aka Rehman Dacoit, on-screen. He said, "We were afraid of Akshaye Khanna sir because he always kept to himself. We thought he probably didn't want to talk to anyone. He liked his privacy. Some people like to be alone. They don't like to talk much. For two days, we saw him sitting alone, no one came near him, so we wondered how and why we should go. If the director or the others aren't going, why should we go? We don't go either. We stay away.

Two days later, Vikram (co-actor) said, let's try. Let's at least say hello. We're working together, we're his fans, and if we can't even say hi, then what's the point? We went. We pushed him ahead, thinking that if he gets beaten up, he'll be the one to get beaten up. Then when we went, the opposite happened to us. It was completely different from what we were thinking. He stood up from his seat. We talked and he was talking very lovingly."

What is your opinion on calling Dhurandhar 2 a propaganda film?

Rajat Arora said, "People will say something, it's their job to say things, so stop talking nonsense. We are getting criticism. But the criticism was more severe when people hadn't seen the film. They probably thought it was propaganda. But Aditya Dhar was asked the same question, and he said in his speech, 'I'm not making an anti-community or anti-Pakistan movie. I'm making an anti-terrorism movie.' So, the terrorism that everyone knows about has a link to Pakistan somewhere.

So if you've seen the movie, it also shows that Pakistan isn't bad, it's the politicians or some people in Pakistan who are bad everywhere, and there are some bad people there who are ruining the whole of Pakistan. He never said he was making an anti-Pakistan movie. He wanted to show the truth about the bad people there."

The story behind Aditya Dhar's peak detailing

Rajat Arora revealed that the star cast of Dhurandhar 2 also includes locals from Lyari. He said, "When we were shooting in Thailand, during our action scene, there were many junior artists. We talked to some of the junior artists and asked them where they were from. They said they were from Lyari. What did we say? I said, 'Don't get into character, brother. Tell us where you really are from.' They said they were really from Lyari."

When we asked if there was any truth in what was happening in the film, he said that he was telling the truth. He was telling the absolute truth. This is what used to happen. Guns used to fire at night. There used to be a lot of gunshots. We had become used to hearing the sound of gunshots. When there was no sound, we used to wonder what had happened today. Had some other problem happened? So you should see the peak detailing that you even brought the people from there. He told that now the situation there is quite good."

Will Dhurandhar 3 come?

There was speculation on social media that Aditya Dhar would be bringing Dhurandhar 3 after Dhurandhar 2. However, Rajat Arora has dismissed these rumors. Rajat Arora put an end to the speculation surrounding Dhurandhar 3, stating that there will not be a third part.
