The central government has initiated a provision for affordable snacks at airports. The government has taken this significant step to provide significant relief to passengers under the "Udan scheme" and following complaints about the often overpriced food at airports. Food and beverages will be available at the "Udan Yatri Café" starting at 10 rupees.
According to an estimate, this scheme will benefit 18,000-20,000 passengers daily at the airport. Water and snacks will now be available at affordable prices at the airport. The opening of this café will make air travel more affordable and convenient for the general public. The quality of the food will also be given special attention.
It should be noted that Lucknow's Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport is operated by Lucknow International Airport Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Airport Holdings Limited. This company has been operating the airport since November 2, 2020, under a 50-year agreement with the Airports Authority of India.
