News Topical, Digital Desk : An iron wire installed in a field to protect animals was electrocuted, resulting in the death of Prashant, 10, son of farm owner Bhagwandas. His mother, Soni, also suffered burns while trying to save him. She has been hospitalized.

Bhagwan Das, a resident of Sisaiya Nagla village in Kalan, has a field behind his house. There's an electric pole nearby, with a streetlight wire hanging from it. Bhagwan Das said his son had gone to the field around 12 noon.

Touching a wire near the pole, he began to struggle with the electric shock. Meanwhile, his wife, Soni, arrived and, trying to save her son, was also electrocuted. Seconds later, the power supply from the substation was cut off.

The mother and son were taken to the Farrukhabad District Hospital, where Prashant was declared dead. Inspector-in-charge Shivdin Verma said that the electric wire touched the iron wire, causing the current to flow. Electricity department officials will investigate.
