Amaravati. TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu will be sworn-in as Andhra Pradesh chief minister on Wednesday, his fourth term in the role. Naidu is scheduled to take oath at 11.27 am on Wednesday at Kesarapalli IT Park near Gannavaram airport on the outskirts of Vijayawada. On Tuesday, the Telugu Desam Legislature Party and NDA constituents elected Naidu as their leader.

After this, NDA leaders in Andhra Pradesh met Governor S Abdul Nazir and requested him to invite N Chandrababu Naidu to form the new government. The Governor has agreed to invite Chandrababu Naidu to form the government.

PM Modi is expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other dignitaries are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony. Earlier, at a meeting of Telugu Desam Party, Janasena and BJP MLAs held in Vijayawada, the MLAs unanimously elected Naidu after Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan proposed him as the leader, which was also supported by state BJP chief D Purandeswari.

It is being told that some other leaders are likely to take oath along with Naidu, which may include TDP general secretary and Naidu's son Nara Lokesh and Janasena leader N Manohar. Chief Secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad, who reviewed the preparations for the ceremony, said that the Prime Minister is expected to leave for Gannavaram airport from Delhi at 8.20 am on Wednesday and reach by 10.40 am.

He said that as per the schedule, Modi is expected to reach the venue by 10.55 am to attend the swearing-in ceremony scheduled from 11 am to 12.30 pm. He said the Prime Minister is then likely to return to the airport at 12.40 pm and fly to Bhubaneswar at 12.45 pm.

Pawan Kalyan elected leader of Janasena Party in the Assembly

 

Janasena Party MLAs elected party chief Pawan Kalyan as their leader in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly. Party sources said Janasena Tenali MLA N Manohar proposed Pawan Kalyan's name as the party leader in the House, which was unanimously supported by other members.

Janasena has 21 MLAs in the 175-member House of the state. In the assembly elections held in Andhra Pradesh, NDA has got 164 assembly seats. Out of these, TDP has got 135 seats, Janasena Party has got 21 seats and BJP has got 8 seats.
