News Topical, Digital Desk : US President Donald Trump has announced to impose 25 percent tariff on India. Trump has alleged that India is buying oil from Russia despite sanctions on it and Russia is using the money from this to fight the war against Ukraine. Apparently, Trump is playing the tariff card to put pressure on India in the trade deal.

Now, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has also called India's decision to buy oil from Russia a matter of irritation. However, Rubio also said that this is a point of irritation in our relations with India, but not the only point. This statement of Rubio is being considered very important regarding the relations between India and America.

'India's energy needs are huge'

In a conversation with Fox Radio, Marco Robbio admitted that India needs to buy oil from Russia because it is available cheap. He said, 'India's energy needs are very high. That is why it is necessary to buy oil, coal, gas and other essential things to boost its economy. Every country does the same. India buys oil from Russia because it is cheap due to the sanctions.'

Rubio said that 'India has to do this. But unfortunately Russia is using it to continue its war efforts. This is certainly a point of irritation in our relations with India, but not the only point of irritation. Rubio clarified that there are many other reasons behind this.

The US Secretary of State said that "India is an ally in global trade. It is our strategic partner. But in foreign policy you cannot have 100 per cent agreement on any issue." Referring to Trump, Rubio said that "what you are seeing the President doing is the reason why India is buying from Russia despite having so many oil sellers."
