Bird Flu California 2025:  A new disaster has emerged in California. This problem is coming in the form of bird flu. A new strain of bird flu has emerged in Merced Country, California. This strain has been found in a duck farm. Scientists are calling this strain by the name of H5N9.

According to the World Organization for Animal Health, this strain has been found for the first time in America, due to which it is being considered a cause of serious concern. Due to this strain, cases of bird flu are also increasing rapidly. Quarantine and testing have been started in this farm.

How is a virus identified? 

The bird flu virus is identified according to two types of proteins. The first is neuraminidase (N1 or N9) and the second is hemagglutinin (H5 or H3). These proteins determine how fast this virus can spread and how serious its consequences can be. 

Cases of the common strain of bird flu, the H5N1 strain, have also been reported. Cases of this strain have been found not only in animals and birds, but also in humans. So far, about 67 cases of bird flu have been reported among humans in the US.

• Falling of wings
• head and neck movements
• Difficulty walking
• Decreased egg production

In humans-

• Fever
• Cough
• Sore throat

Bird flu is not only dangerous for birds and animals but also for humans. Although the risk of infection in humans is low, people who come in contact with infected birds or animals are at a higher risk of infection.

Some precautions should be taken to prevent bird flu, which includes-

• Stay away from infected birds and animals.
• Avoid visiting poultry farms and animal markets.
• Avoid eating raw eggs and meat.
• Wash your hands frequently.
