Sholay is a legacy and it means a lot to people because this film has a special place in their hearts. If new actors want to play the characters of the cult film then it is a good thing but one thing is that its remake can be made but that success cannot be repeated. It is not necessary that people will remember its remake for the next 50 years like they remember this film till now'.
Giving examples to explain her point, the actress said, 'Ramayana and Mahabharat are all great epics. Many films and TV series have been made inspired by them. BR Chopra's Ramayana did a great job but not every version of it was as successful'.

Hema Malini also said that when Sholay was made, nobody had imagined such a huge success and it flopped initially but later became a blockbuster. Today Sholay is a landmark film, so when we look back, it brings back many beautiful memories of working with all those legends'.
