News Topical, Digital Desk : The impact of the ongoing war between the United States, Israel, and Iran is clearly visible in India. Domestic and commercial LPG cylinders are in short supply across much of the country. In Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, the shortage of commercial gas has also affected hotel owners and small tea stall vendors. The commercial LPG crisis has forced tea vendors to revert to coal stoves.

Shopkeepers are building coal furnaces due to LPG shortage

Shivpal, who runs a tea stall, explained his plight, saying, "LPG cylinders are currently unavailable. We're building a coal furnace. I have the last cylinder left, and after that, we'll run out of gas. Customers keep coming here. The coal furnace will be operational tomorrow (March 12). We have to make do somehow."

What did the furnace maker say?

Speaking to the media, the furnace maker said, "I'm making a coal furnace after nearly 25 years. I've run out of LPG cylinders. I can't find tea or food. The agency employees are selling cylinders for 1,500 rupees. They're asking me to get my KYC done. They're not giving me gas cylinders, so I'm working while hungry."

The government should take this issue seriously – Customer

Meanwhile, a customer at a tea stall, when asked about the LPG shortage, said, "This is a very serious issue. The government should take it seriously. Common people, shopkeepers, and street vendors will be in trouble. They will all be on the verge of starvation. All business will come to a standstill. I urge the government to get the system back on track."

Common people are also troubled due to shortage of domestic LPG cylinders.

However, not only are hotel and restaurant owners and other small stall owners worried, but ordinary people are also suffering from the shortage of domestic LPG cylinders. There's a scramble to get domestic cooking gas cylinders. People are leaving their work for hours, waiting for their turn to get an LPG cylinder.
