News Topical, Digital Desk : The Maharashtra Cyber Department has arrested an accused in a cyber harassment case involving Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar 's daughter, Nitara. Additional Director General of Police Yashasvi Yadav confirmed the arrest. Let's explore the entire online harassment case involving Akshay Kumar's daughter.
Session organized to create cyber awareness
To raise awareness about cybercrime among children, the Maharashtra Cyber Department organized a special program at R.D. National College in Mumbai. The session taught students to be vigilant against the dangers of the digital world. Furthermore, online financial fraud, social media security, phishing attacks, and how to deal with cyberbullying were discussed in detail. During the event, ADG Yashasvi Yadav said,
Nitara was sent obscene messages while online gaming.
At the event, Yashasvi Yadav played an old clip of Akshay Kumar, in which 'Khiladi Kumar' talks about an incident that happened with his daughter and says, “I want to share with you all a small incident that happened at my house a few months ago. My daughter was playing online video games. There are some games that you can play with strangers as well. While playing, you get messages like - 'Thank you, I enjoyed it' or 'You played very well'. Suddenly, an unknown person asked my daughter - 'Where are you from?' She replied - 'Mumbai'. After that, everything became normal. From the words of that person, he seemed very respectful.”
Akshay further explained, "Then the person asked, 'Are you male or female?' My daughter replied, 'Female.' Then the person messaged her, 'Can you send me your nude photo?' My daughter panicked and immediately closed the game and went straight to my wife (Twinkle Khanna). It's a good thing she talked to her mother about it. This is how these things start, and it's part of cybercrime. Sometimes children are misled and then blackmailed and extorted. This has led to several suicides. It's very important to educate our children about the digital world." Akshay also requested Devendra Fadnavis to organize cybercrime classes in schools.
