News Topical, Digital Desk : Ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, NDA allies have begun pressuring the Bharatiya Janata Party. The Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment and President of the Republican Party of India has announced that they will contest 25 seats in Uttar Pradesh in the upcoming elections. Furthermore, they have declared that if their demands are not met, they will contest alone.

The Union Minister of State made this statement during a press conference in Lucknow last Sunday . He also targeted the Samajwadi Party and Congress for opposing the Women's Reservation Bill. Athawale stated that he is targeting Dalit-majority seats. There has been no response from the BJP to his demand.

Claims of strong alliance at the Centre

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale, while reiterating his commitment to a strong alliance with the BJP at the Centre, said that the RPI has a strong claim to Dalit-dominated seats in Uttar Pradesh. Taking a dig at the BSP, he said that the BSP has been in power, but now has only one seat left. Now, the RPI has the real claim to Dalits. Therefore, the party is preparing to field candidates in the upcoming elections.

SP-Congress aiming at

Ramdas Athawale also criticized the Samajwadi Party and the Congress for opposing the Women's Reservation Amendment Bill. He said that these two parties are obstacles to women's empowerment. Therefore, they should not discuss women's rights.

Demand for Dalit Samaj Bhawan in UP

Ramdas Athawale urged Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to build community halls in Dalit-dominated villages. He said that community halls should be built and their management entrusted to the Dalit community. Along with RPI state president Pawan Gupta, Athawale will soon meet with CM Yogi and the BJP state president to submit a memorandum of demands.
