News Topical, Digital Desk : With just a few days left for the release of Ranveer Singh and Sara Arjun starrer " Dhurandhar: The Revenge," fans are growing increasingly excited. The trailer for the film was released a few days ago, and along with the power-packed action and gunfire, what really captivated audiences was the background music.
While in 'Dhurandhar: Part 1', director Aditya Dhar used songs like 'Ramba Ho' from the 90s, this time with the second part, he is all set to take fans back to the 2000s era with the Punjabi song 'Aari-Aari', when this song used to be the pride of every party, wedding and festival.
This band composed the song 'Aari-Aari'
While people may be dancing to the beats of the upcoming track "Aari-Aari" in "Dhurandhar 2," the song was originally created by the band "Bombay Rockers," a popular indie-pop duo, who created this song in 2003. Singer Navtej Singh Rehal founded the group while living in Denmark. He formed it after numerous jamming sessions with Thomas Saardorff and Janus Barnewitz. The band is known for its excellent blend of Punjabi and Western music.
Bombay Rockers released the song "Aari-Aari" at a time when global fusion music was relatively rare. It blended Punjabi vocals, English lyrics, and electronic beats. This cross-cultural style brought the band considerable fame not only in India but also abroad, including Europe.
Bombay Rockers are making a comeback after 15 years.
Navtej Singh and Thomas Sardorf's band together gave many hit Punjabi-pop songs like "Rock the Party," "Nawa-Nawa," and "Ishq," but "Aari-Aari" tops their list of most memorable tracks. The band released their last album in 2011, titled "Let's Dance." Now, after 15 years, they are returning in 2026 with a brand new version of their most famous track, "Aari-Aari," in "Dhurandhar: The Revenge."
The modern version was prepared from the Punjabi dialect (Bari-Barsi).
According to a report by NDTV, the idea for the song "Aari-Aari" came to Bombay Rockers from the famous Punjabi tune "Bari Barsi," which is often sung during bhangra or gidda dances at weddings and festivals. According to reports, in 2002-2003, Bombay Rockers took this traditional tune of "Bari-Barsi" and combined it with hip-hop and pop beats. They didn't lose the original magic of this folk music, but gave it a modern touch to suit the party vibes of the time. This "Bari-Barsi" was adapted by Bombay Rockers into "Aari-Aari."
When is 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' releasing?
