In Rajasthan's Bharatpur district too, devotees are celebrating Lord Krishna's birthday by organizing programs with great enthusiasm on Krishna Janmashtami.
Today Krishna Ji will appear in every house. Religious events are being organized since morning in many ancient temples including Shri Bankebihari Ji, Shri Dariyab Mohan Ji, Shri Tanda Madan Mohan Ji, Shri Mohan Ji Budh Ki Haat, Shri Panchmukhi Laddoo Gopal Ji, Shri Radharaman Ji Shri Meetha Charanamrit and various other temples and crowds of devotees are gathering.
On the day of Janmashtami, women and men often observe fast and after Kanhaiya ji's Abhishek, they break the fast by taking Chinamrit or drink some water etc. only after taking Chinamrit. At the time of Abhishek in temples, men and women are busy celebrating Kanhaiya's birthday with great joy by singing and dancing on bhajans. Shops of Mawa sweets have been decorated in the market today.
Bathed with panchamrit
Some ancient temples in Bharatpur district will celebrate Banke Bihari Ji's birth anniversary by anointing him in the temples at 12 o'clock next night. The temples of the city have been decorated with attractive lights on Krishna Janmashtami. The idols of Radha and Krishna seated in the temples have been bathed with Panchamrit along with milk, curd and honey and after adornment, the doors will be closed. The doors will be opened at 12 o'clock at night at the time of birth and devotees will be given darshan of Kanha and Aarti will be organized and prasad will be distributed among the devotees.
Birthday is being celebrated with great pomp
This festival is being celebrated with great pomp in about 150 old and new temples of Bharatpur city and the district. Aarti is being performed by devotees even during the day and people are crowding the temples to get a glimpse of their Kanha. Crowds are seen at the shops selling Kanha's dress, swing, Laddu-Gopal in the city markets.
Dressed up in new clothes and adorned
Bharatpur district is considered a part of Brij region where Brij language is spoken, people have immense faith in Lord Krishna and people are visiting Giriraj mountain situated 30 kilometers away in Govardhan and Krishna Janmabhoomi situated in Mathura and offering prayers. The idols of Lord Krishna and Radha installed in temples are being adorned by dressing them in new clothes.
