Bystanders filmed the incident and circulated it on the internet. When people tried to apprehend him, he slammed his head against the wall, injuring himself.

According to eyewitnesses, the young man reached the tracks directly from the Kalyanpur Metro station, even though the metro passes there every five to ten minutes and the tracks are live. Metro administration and security personnel were alarmed upon receiving information about the young man's presence on the tracks. Staff attempted to persuade him to come down, but he became aggressive.
