According to the Hindu calendar, the Panchak of the month of April has begun at around 03:44 AM on Monday, April 13, 2026. This Panchak will end at 12:02 AM on Friday, April 17, 2026.

What not to do during Panchak?

Even though it is ' Raj Panchak ', traditions and scriptures (such as Bhavishya Purana) have prohibited 5 specific activities during Panchak:

• Travel towards South:  South is considered to be the direction of Yama, hence long journeys towards South should be avoided during these 5 days.
• Putting the roof of the house:  If you are building a new house, then it is better to postpone the work of putting the roof (lintel) during Panchak.
• Collecting fuel:  Collecting grass, wood or other inflammable materials is considered inauspicious, as it creates the fear of fire.
• New bed or cot:  It is not considered good to open or tie the bed during these days.
• Funeral Rules:  If someone dies during this period, Panchak Shanti should be performed along with the funeral to avoid Panchak Dosh.
