News Topical, Digital Desk : For the last two and a half decades, television's most favourite show Kaun Banega Crorepati is not only entertaining the audience, but also increasing the knowledge of the contestants and making them lakhpatis and crorepatis. Although many knowledgeable contestants have won prize money worth crores and lakhs on the stage of KBC, but this has not happened in the 17th season yet. 

Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 17  was telecasted on the 11th of this month. Once again, host Amitabh Bachchan has come on the stage of KBC with a bundle of general knowledge questions from all over the world. In the recent episode, he asked a contestant a question which she could not answer despite using two lifelines.

Won prize money of 5 lakh rupees

Actually, Kalyani, who belongs to Asal, came in the fourth episode of KBC 17, who won the prize money of Rs 5 lakh on the basis of her knowledge. She had won the prize money of Rs 5 lakh by answering 7 questions correctly. For 5 lakhs, Amitabh Bachchan had asked her, "In which sport has Bhuvaneshwari Kumari won the national women's singles title for 16 consecutive years?" Kalyani chose option C (squash ) and won the prize money of Rs 5 lakh.

Contestant stuck on the question of Rs 7.5 lakh

After answering 7 questions correctly, the next stage came in which  Amitabh Bachchan  asked Kalyani the 8th question worth Rs 7.5 lakh. The question was -

What is the local name of a gas crater in Turkmenistan nicknamed 'Gate of Hell', where fire has been burning continuously for nearly half a century?

Options 

A - Hell

B - Hell

C - well

D- door

Even two lifelines could not help

Kalyani did not know the answer to this question, but she had two lifelines which could have been beneficial for her. After using the first lifeline 50-50, two options came up - Jahannum and Darwaza. When there was confusion in this too, she used another lifeline and took the opinion of the public. Most of the people chose option B i.e. Jahannum and she lost.

The correct answer was option D i.e. Darwaza. Even though Kalyani could not win Rs 7.5 lakh, she returned home with a prize money of Rs 5 lakh.
