Daurala : The husband of a woman from Daurala got furious when he saw her watching the procession of Kanwariyas on the Delhi-Doon highway. He slapped the woman in front of the crowd and tore off the flesh by biting her cheek.
Seema, a resident of Mohinipur Bharouta, said that she had a love marriage with Amit, a resident of Hastinapur, five months ago. Both are living in Daurala. On Thursday, husband Amit was drunk and was out of the house. Seema came to the service road on the highway and started watching the tableaus in the Kanwar Yatra. Amit reached there looking for her and got angry at his wife.

When the woman protested, Amit slapped her several times and in a fit of rage bit her cheek, tearing off the flesh. When the woman screamed in a bloody state, the devotees passing by mistook Amit for a molester and caught him and thrashed him. The devotees came to know about the incident when the woman told them. Police reached the spot, took Amit to the police station and sent the woman for treatment. The woman has filed a complaint against her husband at the police station.
