News Topical, Digital Desk : The administration in Patna, the capital of Bihar, has made extensive security arrangements in view of Eid. The district administration and police have developed a joint strategy to maintain peace and law and order during the festival, officials said. Magistrates and police forces will be deployed at 442 sensitive and important locations, they said. In a joint meeting held on Friday (March 20) between Patna District Magistrate Tyagarajan SM and SSP Kartikeya K Sharma, clear instructions were given that peace should not be disturbed under any circumstances.
Instructions have been given to deploy Quick Response Teams (QRTs) in sensitive areas and conduct flag marches to maintain public confidence and create psychological pressure on anti-social elements. Social media platforms are being closely monitored. Officials stated that strict action will be taken under the Indian Penal Code against those who spread misleading or objectionable content on WhatsApp, Facebook, and other platforms. Instructions have been given to register FIRs under non-bailable sections in such cases.
Special strategy for monitoring sensitive areas
A special strategy has been developed for crowd control and monitoring of sensitive areas. Officials from the zonal to the district level have been asked to remain vigilant. All magistrates and police officers have been instructed to reach their deployment sites on time and remain alert until the end of the program, to ensure prompt action in case of any emergency. The Patna City area will have the highest deployment of security forces at 153 locations, while 65 locations have been identified in Patna Sadar, 79 in Danapur, 59 in Barh, 39 in Masaurhi, and 47 in Paliganj.

Eleven magistrates have been deployed there, while 18 and 12 magistrates have been appointed in the control rooms of Patna City and Danapur, respectively. The district control room is also being operated in three shifts, with 26 magistrates on duty. The administration has appealed to the public for cooperation, asking them to immediately report any suspicious activity, rumors, or emergencies to the district control room or the police helpline. Eid will be celebrated on March 21st.
