News Topical, Digital Desk : The Siddhpeeth Kali Temple, located in Lalbagh, is said to have a history of nearly 500 years. The temple's first abbot was Mishri Giri Maharaj, who began serving the Kali monastery located on a hill. According to legend, when the British government eyed the temple's property, Mishri Giri Maharaj performed a miracle by throwing soil, and the area where the soil fell was considered the temple's land.

It is said that the soil turned into sugar candy, a miracle that even led the British authorities to surrender and withdraw their claim. This miracle further enhanced the temple's glory.

At this seat, accomplished saints like the late Mahant Mishri Giri, Omkareshwar Giri, Krishnanand Giri, Devdutt Giri, and Yash Giri, through their austerities, made it a sacred place. These saints also made significant contributions to the propagation of Sanatan Dharma and culture.

The idol appeared spontaneously in the 400-year-old Siddhapeeth Nau Devi Temple.

The Siddhpeeth Nau Devi Temple is an ancient religious site approximately 400 years old, characterized by its self-manifested idol. It is believed that the idol of the Mother Goddess here appeared from within the ground, depicting the combined form of nine goddesses. This is why it is known as the Nau Devi Temple.

This temple has long been a center of devotion for devotees. Saints such as the late Mahant Omkareshwar Giri Maharaj, Somwar Giri Maharaj, Krishnanand Giri Maharaj, Datta Giri Maharaj, and Vedanta Giri Maharaj performed penance at this site. Their devotion and service earned this place the status of a Siddhapeetha. Devotees who come here seek the fulfillment of their wishes by visiting the Mother Goddess.
