News Topical, Digital Desk : Rekha, a married woman, was brutally murdered on Monday (March 16) in the Gauriganj police station area of Amethi district, Uttar Pradesh. Police solved the murder within 24 hours (Tuesday, March 17) and arrested the woman's husband, Mansharam. Police also recovered the motorcycle and stick used in the murder. The murder is believed to be due to the husband's relationship with another woman and suspicion about his wife's character.
This incident caused a sensation in the entire area. During police surveillance and vehicle checking, her husband's bike was challaned. After questioning, she confessed the truth. Further investigation is underway, with the accused being sent to jail.
What is the whole matter?
According to reports, the entire village of Dingur Majra Sarai Hridayshah (Dungarpur), in the Gauriganj police station area, was shocked on Monday when the body of 27-year-old Rekha was found lying in a pool of blood in a wheat field about 150 meters from the village. Villagers who were defecating on Monday morning discovered the body, causing panic in the area and informing the police.
Police arrived at the scene, sent the body for a post-mortem examination, and began an investigation. The deceased, Rekha, had been visiting her parents' home from her in-laws' home for Holi. On the evening of March 15th, she left home to relieve herself but never returned. The family was devastated when her body was found in a field the next day.
Police and forensic team collected evidence
Upon receiving the information, local police and forensic teams arrived at the scene and collected vital evidence. The body was taken into custody and sent for post-mortem examination. Given the seriousness of the incident, Additional Superintendent of Police Gyanendra Kumar Singh also arrived at the scene, conducted an inspection, and provided necessary instructions. Superintendent of Police Saravanan T., taking into account the severity of the incident, immediately formed four police teams, all of which were deployed.

Teams formed under the direction of the Superintendent of Police conducted a swift investigation and, based on the evidence gathered, arrested the deceased's husband, Mansharam. During interrogation, he confessed to the murder. According to the police, the accused was having an affair with another woman, which his wife opposed. He also suspected her character. This led to frequent disputes between the two, which led to this heinous crime.
He called his wife to the farm.
The accused, having planned it in advance, called his wife to the farm on the night of March 15th. During an argument there, he killed her by hitting her on the head with a stick multiple times and fled the scene. After the incident, the accused hid the stick used in the murder and attempted to destroy evidence by burning the deceased's mobile phone and SIM card in a brick kiln.
Operation Chakravyuh became an important clue
After the incident, while the accused was returning on his motorcycle, his motorcycle was challaned under Operation Chakravyuh, a police operation. This evidence later proved to be a crucial link in the investigation. The wooden stick (murder weapon) and motorcycle number UP 44 AE 9017 were recovered. Police arrested the accused, filed a case against him under relevant sections, and have initiated further legal proceedings. The Gauriganj police station, SWAT, and surveillance team played a key role in this success.
