Male:  The Maldivian army (MNDF) is operating the two helicopters donated by India after the country withdrew its military officers from the country. Addhadutcom quoted an unnamed airman as saying that whenever the helicopters donated by India are flown, a soldier of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) is always on board.

Due to Maldives President Mohammad Muizzu being a strong supporter of China, in September last year, all the Indian soldiers deployed there were asked to return to India.

The last batch of 88 military officers returned to India by the scheduled time of 10 May. But India then sent civilian officials to operate the two helicopters and Dornier aircraft donated by India. Despite this, these are still being operated by the Maldives army.
