News Topical, Digital Desk : Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that negotiations with the United States are over forever. He said that assurances were given that no military action would be taken against Iran, and that the US had betrayed them.
" The talks with the Americans are over forever... This is a bitter experience and a betrayal after promises of no attack! " Araghchi said in a video released on X. He further said that these developments have also destroyed the remaining diplomatic space between Tehran and Washington.
'Promised and betrayed'
" There is no longer any room for negotiations with the Americans. They deceived us by promising not to attack, and even after considerable progress in negotiations, they decided to attack us, " Araghchi said.
Describing this experience as extremely damaging to trust, he further said, "This experience is extremely bitter and there is no trace of trust left. The regional war has closed the doors of diplomacy forever!"
Threats of attacks in the Middle East
As the war in the Middle East enters its fourth week, both the US and Iran are threatening to target critical infrastructure, raising concerns about civilian safety and economic disruption, according to news agency AP.
Iran has warned that it will completely close the Strait of Hormuz if the US carries out its threats to attack Iranian power plants. Earlier, US President Donald Trump had threatened to attack Iran's power plants, saying he would cause devastation if Tehran did not reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
