News Topical, Digital Desk : A new controversy has erupted at Jammu University regarding the MA Political Science syllabus. According to reports, the Departmental Academic Committee (DAC) has recommended removing topics related to Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, and Muhammad Iqbal from the syllabus. A final decision on this recommendation will be made at the Board of Studies meeting on March 24th.
Jinnah's political views were reportedly taught as part of the Political Science paper "Minorities and the Nation." The recommendation to remove these topics has sparked debate in academic and political circles.
The ABVP, a student organization, protested at the university over this issue and demanded the removal of these topics. The organization stated that such topics, which generate controversy, are unnecessary in the syllabus.
Congress raised questions
Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput reacted sharply to this recommendation. He said, "Not just Jinnah, but also Sir Syed Ahmed. Not just Sir Syed Ahmed, but also Allama Iqbal. And who is raising this question? The ABVP is protesting."
He said, "The Bharatiya Janata Party should tell, the Sangh should tell what they think of Sir Syed Ahmed. The Bharatiya Janata Party and the Sangh should also tell who is Allama Iqbal, who wrote Sare Jahan Se Achha Hindustan Hamara, but later went to Pakistan. The Sangh should also tell why they have included Jinnah among their top freedom fighters, which is written in the Sangh office."
BJP is raising unnecessary issues
Surendra Rajput further said, "The Bharatiya Janata Party should clarify all these things. People from the BJP's affiliated organizations often try to raise unnecessary issues so that the issue of statehood for Jammu and Kashmir cannot be discussed. As of today, give Jammu and Kashmir full statehood. They will resolve the remaining issues themselves."
Now in this entire matter, everyone's eyes are fixed on the meeting of the Board of Studies to be held on March 24, where it will be decided whether these subjects will remain in the syllabus or will be removed.
