Fatehpur News Today: The order to demolish a part of the 180-year-old Noori Jama Masjid in Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh has become a topic of discussion. A petition has been filed in the Allahabad High Court challenging the demolition order. This petition was to be heard on Friday (6 December).
However, the petition challenging the order of demolition of a part of Noori Jama Masjid could not be heard in Allahabad High Court today. Actually, the hearing of the case was postponed due to the case not being taken up. Now the hearing on this case will be held after a week i.e. on 13 December.
What is the matter?
In fact, orders have been given to demolish an important part of the Noorie Jama Masjid located in Lalauli area of Fatehpur, citing road widening. Citing its historical and cultural importance, the management committee of Noorie Jama Masjid has challenged the demolition order in the Allahabad High Court.
The mosque committee says that demolishing a part of it will cause great damage to the Noorie Jama Masjid. The mosque committee has claimed that this building is more than a hundred years old. Along with this, this mosque is included in the heritage of the Archaeological Survey of India.
'Demolition damages cultural heritage'
According to the news published in the media, the road for which orders have been given to demolish a part of the mosque is being built by the UP Public Works Department. As soon as the news of the order to demolish the centuries-old mosque was received, a new discussion has started.
The mosque committee argues that the demolition of this historic mosque will cause irreparable damage to the cultural heritage of the country. Historical structures cannot be restored once they are lost.
