The incident took place in November 2018 when the victim Ramik Shah was going down in the lift from the fourth floor with his one and a half year old son and domestic help. On the third floor, the accused Rishabh Patel forcefully entered the lift with his husky. Shah tried to stop him as his son was scared of dogs, but Patel did not listen. During that time, the dog bit Shah's hand.

Victim Rameek Shah had lodged a complaint with the police

Shah and his servant filed a police complaint after receiving medical treatment. The testimony of both was considered credible in the court and the CCTV footage also confirmed the incident.

The court admitted negligence

The court held that Patel not only behaved negligently with his pet dog but also ignored the safety of others. On this basis, the court convicted Patel and sentenced him to four months rigorous imprisonment and a fine.
