Moradabad.  The Municipal Corporation has put red marks on the shops near Majhola Power House Gate at Chaudhary Charan Singh Chowk. This has created concern among the shopkeepers. On Monday, the shopkeepers met the District Magistrate and District Social Welfare Officer under the banner of Dalit Adhikar Nyay Manch and presented their side.

Shopkeepers say that 30 shops selected under the Special Composite Plan were constructed in 1984. These were allotted to poor people of the Scheduled Castes so that they could earn their livelihood. A few days ago, the employees of the Municipal Corporation have marked these shops in red to demolish them. The shopkeepers and their families are dependent on these shops.

Shopkeepers say that there is already a 40 meter road on both sides in front of these shops. There is never a problem of jam etc. If the shops are demolished, then the support for raising children and livelihood will be snatched away and they will come on the road.

Those who submitted the memorandum included Than Singh, Jabar Singh, Sanjeev Kumar, Tarun, Gambhir Singh, Meenu Ratnakar, Jaidev Singh, Radheshyam, Jaipal etc.
