An audio recording of Texas Republican Congressman Ted Cruz has surfaced, in which he blames several people for the failure of the India-US trade deal. This list includes names ranging from US President Trump to Vice President JD Vance and White House advisor Peter Navarro.

10-minute recording leaked

Ted Cruz is heard criticizing Vance, Navarro, and Trump in a 10-minute audio recording. The audio is from early 2025, just months into Trump's presidency. Cruz is speaking on the phone with a private donor.

Cruise also spoke on tariffs

Cruz warns about Trump's trade policy, saying that the US tariffs will deal a severe blow to the economy. This could even lead to impeachment proceedings against the president. Cruz says that when Trump imposed the tariffs in April 2025, he, along with several lawmakers, appealed to Trump to lift the tariffs.

Cruz further stated that Trump rebuked him with profanity. Cruz further told Donner that the White House was deliberately obstructing the trade deal with India. When Donner asked who in the White House was doing this, Cruz replied that it was economic advisors Peter Navarro, J.D. Vance, and sometimes even Trump.
