A burqa-clad woman entered a jewellery shop in the Rudauli Kotwali area in broad daylight and carried out the robbery at gunpoint. However, thanks to the prompt action of the police, the case was solved within hours, and the accused couple was arrested.
According to reports, a woman wearing a burqa entered the shop posing as a customer and suddenly pulled out a fake pistol and began threatening the shopkeeper. In the ensuing panic, she stole approximately 26 grams of gold and a locket. Her lover was standing outside the shop with a motorcycle, ready to go. After committing the crime, they quickly fled the scene.

The entire incident was captured on the CCTV camera installed in the shop, which later proved to be crucial evidence in the police investigation. Based on the complaint filed by the victim, goldsmith Mahesh, the police immediately registered a case and began investigation. Based on the footage and local input, the police arrested both accused within a few hours.

The arrested accused have been identified as Rahul (resident of Mavai) and his girlfriend Payal (resident of Baba Bazaar). According to the police, Payal is already married and wore a burqa to conceal her identity. During the search, the police recovered the stolen gold, locket, the motorcycle used in the crime, and a fake pistol. Police are currently interrogating both men and further legal action is being taken in the case. The police's swift action has been praised for its work.
