Abhishek gave the example of his parents
In a conversation with Lilly Singh, Abhishek Bachchan opened up about being insecure about his wife Aishwarya Rai 's stardom. He explained that he wasn't raised that way. Citing the example of his parents, he said:
When my parents married, my mother (Jaya Bachchan) was a bigger star than my father (Amitabh Bachchan). So it's not strange. I wasn't raised with the mindset that you have to be dominant. It's a partnership. I've known Aishwarya since the beginning of my career. My second film was with her. We weren't in a relationship at that time. We were just good friends.
Abhishek is not insecure about Aishwarya's stardom.
Talking about his relationship with Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan further said, "When we finally came together through our courtship, engagement and then marriage, it was about a partnership. There was never a talk of 'I will earn and you will take care of the house'. It happens very naturally but for me it comes from a lot of ego."
Aishwarya agrees with Abhishek's opinion!
Continuing his point, Abhishek Bachchan further said, "I said ego because I am not the kind of person who believes that for me to win a race, the other person should give up or stop running. That is my mindset.
I don't want to be in a relationship or marriage where my wife has to give up doing something so I can feel more 'manly.' Thankfully, my wife isn't someone who feels that way either. "
