
News Topical, Digital Desk : 6 people lost their lives in 2 separate accidents in Uttarakhand on Monday. The first incident took place at Tiger Falls in Chakrata of Dehradun district, where 2 people bathing in the waterfall died due to a tree falling from the mountain. The deceased include a tourist from Delhi and a local person. The second incident took place in Tehri district, where 4 elderly people lost their lives when a car fell into a ditch. The elderly people who died in the accident were between 60 and 70 years of age and they were returning to Chandigarh after attending a religious program.
Accident due to falling of tree in Chakrata's Tiger Falls
According to the police, a major accident took place on Monday evening at Tiger Falls, a famous tourist spot in Chakrata. 55-year-old Alka Anand, a resident of Delhi, and 38-year-old Geetaram Joshi of Chakrata were bathing in the waterfall when a tree suddenly fell from the mountain. Both died on the spot after being crushed under the tree. Some other people are also reported to have been injured in this incident who were bathing in the waterfall at the time of the accident. People present on the spot pulled both of them out from under the tree and sent them to CHC Chakrata, where both were declared dead.
Car falls into ditch in Tehri, 4 elderly people died
On the other hand, a car went out of control and fell into a 40 meter deep ditch on Kirtinagar-Badiyargarh road in Tehri district. Four elderly people in the car were residents of Chandigarh, who had come to their village Malgarhi. They were returning after attending a religious program. Darshan Singh Aswal (70), Dharam Singh Aswal (70), Karna Singh Panwar (65) and Rajendra Singh Panwar (60) died in the accident . Tehri Tehsildar Pradeep Kandhari said that after the accident, teams of tehsil administration and State Disaster Response Force reached the spot. The injured were taken out of the car and taken to Srikot Base Hospital, but the doctors declared them dead.
