News Topical, Digital Desk : Police have arrested three accused in the gang rape of a student at Durgapur's IQ City Medical College Hospital. Police are interrogating two young men. The three men will be produced in court and taken on remand. No lawyer will appear in court on behalf of the accused. The police have requested remand.
The accused are Sheikh Riyazuddin alias Mantu, Appu Bauri, and Firdaus Sheikh, all residents of Bijra village. A case has been registered against them under the gang rape charges.

Following the incident, the accused had snatched the victim's phone and demanded three thousand rupees for its return.
The named accused is still absconding
After the rape, one of the accused called Wasif from the student's phone. The criminals kept the phone because he couldn't pay. The criminals were identified after tracking the phone. Police arrested three young men that night and confiscated their mobile phones. On Sunday morning, another young man was arrested by flying a drone in the Bijra forest. However, the police have not yet arrested Wasif Ali, the named accused in the rape case.

It should be noted that on Friday night, the student had gone out of college with her friend. At that time, three young men dragged her into the woods, where her friend escaped. After some time, he went back into the woods and brought the girl back to the college. She was then sent to the hospital for treatment. Her father filed a complaint at the police station.
