News Topical, Digital Desk : Chief Justice of India, Justice Surya Kant, made a major announcement on Friday. He said that a special vacation session of the Supreme Court will be held on December 22nd to hear urgent matters. CJI Surya Kant said that after reviewing the number of cases, he will decide how many benches should convene.

CJI Surya Kant made this announcement after some lawyers verbally requested that some cases be listed for urgent hearing today, as the court is closing for winter vacation. The winter vacation will be from December 22nd to January 2nd.

We are ready to hear...

During a hearing, a lawyer requested an urgent hearing. The Chief Justice responded, "Will those who are lined up for the hearing argue on Monday (December 22nd)? We are ready to hear the case on Monday."

How to read the file?

Chief Justice Surya Kant said he would not allow any cases to be heard today. He pointed out that too many cases had been filed this week and the judges were already busy studying files. He asked how they would read the files if the cases were listed today.

Will hear the case on this condition

The Chief Justice told the lawyer, "We will hear the case on Monday on the condition that you present your arguments. Wherever you send an urgent memorandum, we will determine if there is any real urgency and list it on Monday. You just have to present your arguments on Monday."

The Chief Justice said, "The Honorable Judges have been reading files all night because so many files have accumulated. They have spent their entire night reading briefs. I will not ask them to read any new briefs today."

When some other matters related to child custody, bail, protection from arrest, etc. were mentioned, the Chief Justice said, "It will be immediately ascertained whether there is indeed any urgency. If it is found that there is indeed any urgency, interim bail or custody, then we will hear it on December 22."
