According to the information, Rosie, a resident of Kotturpuram, works as a teacher in a private school in Velachery. On Tuesday evening, she was sitting on the platform of Perungudi railway station to go to her home. At that time, the accused Babaji reached her and sat next to her on the bench. In a short while, as soon as he got the chance, he snatched the gold chain from Rosie's neck and fled from the spot.
Charges of mobile theft already
After this incident, Thiruvanmayur Railway Police immediately registered a case and started investigation. After intensive investigation, the accused Babaji alias Soundar was arrested today. According to the police, Babaji has been accused of mobile theft earlier also.

It can be seen in the CCTV footage that the accused comes and keeps roaming around the woman. After roaming around for a while, he comes and sits on the bench where the female teacher is sitting. It can be seen in the video that in the meantime, the accused also talks to the female teacher, then both of them sit quietly on the bench. During this, the accused is seen staring at the woman's chain again and again. Then, he pulls the chain of the female teacher and runs away.
