The sudden death of Dambaru Gada, a sweeper working in the main hospital of Malkangiri district of Odisha, shocked not only the hospital staff but the entire area. Dambaru, who lived in a small government quarter for 33 years, always lived a simple life. No good clothes, no good food and no luxuries. But when the house was searched after his death, something came to light that no one had even imagined.

Money was found everywhere in Dambru's house

Lakhs of rupees in cash were recovered from Dambru's house. Bundles of notes were found everywhere, in bags, under the bed, between books. Somewhere there were fifty rupee notes, somewhere hundred rupee notes and somewhere bundles of five hundred rupees. In total, lakhs of rupees were recovered. Not only this, his assets including bank accounts and PF are said to be more than crores.

Dambru did not spend money

Dambaru used to keep money hidden, but spending it was probably not in his habit. Despite having an electricity connection, he used to live by lighting candles. Despite getting a salary of 50 thousand rupees a month, he had only an old cot, a towel and an old dress in his house. A few years ago his bicycle was stolen, but he did not buy a new bicycle – he kept going to the hospital on foot.

I used to eat food from cheap dhabas

Dambaru never married and he had no close relatives. According to neighbors, he used to survive by begging food from outside or eating from cheap dhabas. After his death, when the lock of his house was broken in the presence of police, all this money was found.

Now the biggest question is who will inherit all of Dambru's savings? Because he has no direct heir, and now the administration will have to decide who to hand over this money to.
