News Topical, Digital Desk : A 45-year-old software engineer in Bengaluru has committed suicide. In his suicide note, he blamed a government official for the suicide. He accused a family whose head worked for the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, now known as the Greater Bengaluru Authority. The software engineer committed suicide while blaming officials of the Greater Bengaluru Authority. Police have arrested a couple in connection with the case and sent them to jail.

According to the police investigation so far, software engineer Murali Govind Raju purchased land in Bengaluru's Whitefield area in 2018. The couple, Sashi Nambiar and Usha Nambiar, arranged the land for Govind Raju through a relative.

In his 10-page suicide note, Govind Raju wrote that as soon as he began construction on the land, Shashi Nambiar and his wife, Usha, began harassing him, accusing him of violating municipal regulations. Govind Raju wrote that Shashi even enlisted some municipal officials and began harassing him regularly.

Committed suicide at a house under construction

Before committing suicide, Govind Raju wrote in his suicide note that Shashi, the accused officer, demanded Rs 20 lakh to settle the case. The deadline for paying the Rs 20 lakh was Monday. On Monday, Govind Raju left his house at 6 am, went straight to his under-construction house and committed suicide by hanging himself. Based on a complaint from Govind Raju's mother, the police registered a case and arrested Shashi and his wife Usha. Their son Varun is still absconding. The police are further investigating the case after sending the accused to 14-day judicial custody.
