The meeting discussed ways to reduce ongoing tensions in the Middle East. Ishaq Dar also briefed the visiting dignitaries on the prospects of a possible US-Iran dialogue in Islamabad. Ishaq Dar said the visiting foreign ministers expressed their full support for this initiative.
The four-party meeting, hosted by Pakistan, included Egyptian Foreign Minister Bader Abdellatty, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, and his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud. Following the discussions at the meeting, the Pakistani minister also said the foreign ministers reaffirmed their unity in controlling the situation and reducing the risk of military escalation.
