News Topical, Digital Desk : The results of the Lucknow Bar Association elections for three positions were announced on Saturday. The results for the first three positions—President, General Secretary, and Senior Vice President—have been announced.
GN Shukla 'Chacha' has been elected president. Jitendra Singh Yadav alias 'Jitu' has won the post of general secretary. Manish Srivastava has been elected senior vice president. Initial counting on Friday showed a close contest for the posts of president and general secretary, in which GN Shukla 'Chacha' and Jitendra Yadav 'Jitu' had taken the lead. After GN Shukla, Suresh Pandey was the next candidate for the post of president. Rajendra Sharma and Parshuram Mishra were also candidates.
Jitendra Yadav had a strong lead for the General Secretary position. He was followed by Adarsh Mishra, Kuldeep Verma, Marut Sharma, and Kamini Ojha. The contest for the Senior Vice President position was a thrilling one. Manish Srivastava won, followed closely by Yagymani and Saurabh.
Voting for the Bar Association elections took place on Wednesday at the Kaiserbagh premises. Out of a total of 3672 lawyers, 2722 exercised their right to vote. For the first time, women's reservation was implemented in this election. 116 candidates were in the fray for 22 posts, of which seven posts, including the treasurer, were reserved for women. Four women contested for the treasurer's post. Three seats each were reserved for women in the senior and junior executive committees.
President: G.N. Shukla Chachu 1255 votes , Suresh Pandey 1136 votes , Rajendra Sharma 115 votes , and Parshuram Mishra 98 votes .
General Secretary: Jitendra Yadav Jitu 1094 votes , Adarsh Mishra 846 votes , Kuldeep Verma 568 votes , Marut Sharma 111 votes , and Kamini Ojha 23 votes .
Senior Vice President: Manish Srivastava 556 votes , Yagyamani 424 votes , Kamal Kishore 369 votes and Saurabh 357 votes .
