
News Topical, Digital Desk : Amidst severe heat prevailing in most parts of Rajasthan, light rain occurred at many places in the eastern part of the state. The Weather Department said that during the past 24 hours light rain was recorded at some places in eastern Rajasthan. The maximum rainfall of 27 mm was recorded in Jhalarapatan (Jhalawar). Western Rajasthan is in the grip of severe heat. The highest maximum temperature here was recorded in Ganganagar (46.0 degree Celsius) which is 3.3 degrees more than normal. Whereas in the capital of the country Delhi, the minimum temperature on Sunday was recorded 0.4 degrees more than normal at 26.9 degree Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Department, dusty winds are expected to blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour in the border areas of Jodhpur, Bikaner division for the next two to three days. Similarly, in Bikaner and Sri Ganganagar districts, the maximum temperature is expected to be 45-46 degrees Celsius till May 20 and heat wave is expected in some places and the maximum temperature in most of the remaining areas is expected to be 42-44 degrees Celsius. In the northern parts of the state, light rain may occur in the afternoon at some places on May 19 and 20.
Clouds will remain in Delhi
The minimum temperature in the national capital Delhi on Sunday was recorded at 26.9 degrees Celsius, 0.4 degrees above normal. The Meteorological Department gave this information. The IMD has forecast partly cloudy sky and thunderstorms during the day. The Meteorological Department has predicted the maximum temperature in the capital to be around 41 degrees Celsius.
The relative humidity was recorded at 62 percent at 8:30 am. According to the IMD, about one millimetre of rain was recorded between 8 am on Saturday and the same time on Sunday. The Meteorological Department said that it rained in many areas including central Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida, Maharani Bagh and Mayur Vihar. According to the data of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 138 at 9 am on Sunday, which falls in the 'moderate' category.
