The maximum seven deaths occurred in the capital Kiev. Emergency services reported that drones and missiles targeted residential areas, hospitals and infrastructure in several districts of Kiev.

Where did the most damage occur?

The most damage was done in Shevchenkivsky, where a part of a five-story apartment collapsed. Many people were also injured in this. Russia carried out this attack with 352 drones and 11 ballistic and five cruise missiles.

However, the Ukrainian Air Force said the air defense system intercepted 339 drones and 15 missiles before they reached their targets. These attacks come nearly a week after Russia's attack on Ukraine last Tuesday, which killed 28 people in Kiev.

Statement by the Ukrainian President

Russian forces have been trying to attack deep into Ukraine in recent months. However, their progress has been limited. A Washington-based think tank said late Sunday that Russian forces have failed to make significant gains during this period of intense offensive operations.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Ukraine's defense and new ways to put pressure on Russia will be the two main topics of his visit to Britain on Monday. The British PM's office said that Zelensky is to meet Prime Minister Keir Starmer in London ahead of the NATO summit in The Hague this week.
