Goa is a state of the country where tourists from all over the country and abroad keep coming to visit. It is famous all over the world for its beautiful beaches and nightlife. Many people from Mumbai leave for Goa in their own vehicles. In such a situation, there is good news for those going to Goa from Mumbai. The Konkan Expressway connecting Mumbai to Goa, also known as the New Mumbai-Goa Highway, will open soon.

The Union Minister told when the new highway will be operational

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the Mumbai-Goa highway will be completed by June this year. This is expected to bring relief to commuters who have been struggling with potholed roads for years. The national highway between Mumbai and Goa is expected to reduce travel time between these places and boost development in the Konkan region. Gadkari acknowledged the many challenges in completing the highway and said that there were many difficulties regarding the Mumbai-Goa highway but don't worry...we will complete 100 percent of the road work by this June.

This is why there was a delay in land acquisition for the highway

He said that land acquisition for the highway was delayed because of legal disputes and internal conflicts. There were fights between brothers, court cases and endless complications in paying compensation for land. Now those issues have been resolved and work on the Mumbai-Goa highway has gained momentum, the Union minister said.

Government will bring new toll policy- Gadkari

The Road Transport and Highways Minister also reiterated at an event here on Monday that physical toll booths will soon be removed across the country and the Centre will come out with a new toll policy. Expressing confidence in the future of the country's infrastructure, Gadkari said that in the next 2 years, India's road infrastructure will be better than the US.
