News Topical, Digital Desk : The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) 2025 exam results were released on March 6, 2026. Since the UPSC results were announced, the names of four candidates have surfaced who falsely claimed to have passed the exam.
The UPSC investigated all these cases and revealed the correct candidates who passed the exam. Four such cases have been reported in the past nine days.
Use of name of AIR 113 candidate
Shikha Gautam from Bulandshahr claimed she was AIR 113 in the UPSC results. Sweets were distributed and drums were played at her home upon her claim. Shikha, a resident of Delhi, also claimed the 113th rank.
An email was sent to the UPSC demanding a clarification. The commission ordered the Bulandshahr District Magistrate to investigate. The investigation revealed that Shikha Gautam of Bulandshahr's claim was false and that the 113th rank went to Shikha from Delhi.
Fake claim by Ranjit from Bihar
Ranjit Kumar from Sheikhpura, Bihar claimed to have secured the 440th rank. However, after investigation, it was found that Ranjith Kumar from Karnataka had been selected.
Ranjit from Sheikhpura tried to take advantage of a slight name difference. When the administration demanded documents to support his claim, he disappeared. Now, Ranjit, the fraudulent claimant, is absconding.
Priyanka from Himachal Pradesh was selected, not Ghazipur.
Priyanka Chaudhary, a resident of Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, also claimed to have secured the 79th rank in the UPSC. However, after investigation, it was revealed that the candidate who secured AIR 79 was actually Priyanka Chaudhary, a resident of Himachal Pradesh.
Priyanka Chaudhary, a resident of Ghazipur, who had claimed that she has been selected for the post of GST Inspector in 2025, is currently posted in Prayagraj.
Which Akanksha Singh got 301st rank?
The name of Akanksha Singh, who secured the 301st rank, also caused controversy. Two Akanksha Singhs, one from Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh and the other from Ara in Bihar, claimed to have cleared the UPSC exam.
After investigation, the Commission approved the name of Akanksha Singh of Ghazipur, UP and declared the claim of Akanksha of Bihar of clearing the exam as false.
