News Topical, Digital Desk : Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot returned to Jaipur today from a two-day visit to Delhi. Speaking to the media about the Congress party's crushing defeat in the Bihar elections, Gehlot said that the distribution of ₹10,000 each to women during the election campaign was a major factor.

Regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi , he said, "He talks about divisions within the Congress party. The BJP has not yet been able to select a national president because of the divisions within it. What all the talk about the BJP and RSS is about. We have Mallikarjun Kharge as president. There is no division in the Congress party."

Ashok Gehlot furious over distribution of money in Bihar elections

Regarding the Bihar elections, Ashok Gehlot said, "Elections are underway, polling is underway for the first and second phases, and during this time, ten thousand rupees are being distributed to women. There's talk of one woman voting for him. I would like to point out that it wasn't just her, almost her entire family voted for her."

Gehlot further stated that ten thousand rupees had come into his family. He added that in Bihar, the elderly used to receive a pension of four hundred rupees, which was increased to one thousand rupees. What should be said about the money being distributed during polling? Ashok Gehlot stated that the primary reason for this defeat was the distribution of money during the election.

Gehlot spoke on the results of Bihar elections

Regarding the Bihar election defeat, Ashok Gehlot said, "While there may be many reasons, the clear reason is that we were in power in Rajasthan. Our 2022 budget plan was to provide mobile phones to youth and 20 lakh rupees to women."

He further said that as soon as the elections were declared, the Election Commission stopped the scheme, which prevented distribution. We were only able to distribute 40 lakh rupees. This deprived approximately 10 million women. Women's pensions were stopped. Similarly, the Annapurna Yojana, a scheme for the poor, was stopped. We did not object, as the Election Commission directed that fair elections be held, and we supported it.

What did Ashok Gehlot say about the Anta by-election?

Speaking about Congress's victory in the Anta by-election in Rajasthan, Gehlot said, "The situation in Rajasthan is completely different. If you talk to anyone there, across the entire state, anywhere in the village, you'll find the same thing: the previous government's work, whether it was in social security, health, or education, we set records in all of them."

The government that has come to power has either stopped or weakened many of our schemes, so people can see clearly what has happened. People can see clearly that governance is failing, and people are also angry with the new government. There were many reasons why we won there by more than 15,000 votes.

Ashok Gehlot spoke about PM Modi

Regarding Prime Minister Modi's statements about the Congress party, he said, "They are absolutely nonsense. PM Modi has no right to say this about the Congress party. He has no right to talk about the Congress splitting up, or to say anything else. I don't consider it appropriate. He should take care of his own house."

He further said that it has been almost two years since he was unable to elect the BJP president, and Nadda is still in office. Who knows what the RSS and BJP are discussing behind the scenes. If a party hasn't been able to elect a president for a year and a half, is the split within them or within the Congress? If there is a split within them, then they are unable to elect their own president. In our country, Kharge is the president.

Our party is united – Ashok Gehlot

Regarding the Congress party, Ashok Gehlot said, "Our party is united. Under the leadership of Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, we all respect Sonia Gandhi in unison. Such a situation has never arisen in our party, nor has it ever been discussed."

Ashok Gehlot said that PM Modi himself started the discussion to divert attention from his inability to appoint his own president. What we are saying is that all the talk of nationalism and the name-calling are just his rhetoric, which have no substance. He keeps making such statements, and I don't want to respond to them.
