News Topical, Digital Desk : The shooting at a Washington hotel Saturday night during the White House Correspondents' Dinner has raised serious questions about security arrangements. President Donald Trump's security arrangements will now be extensively reviewed.

White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles will meet with senior law enforcement and Homeland Security officials this week to review current security protocols. Meanwhile, the suspect in the case, Cole Thomas Allen, appeared in federal court in Washington on Monday. He faces several felony charges, including attempted assassination of the president.

A major challenge for security agencies

This incident is believed to be the third major security breach involving Trump in the past two years. With Trump lined up for several major public events this summer, this incident poses a significant challenge for security agencies, particularly the Secret Service.

According to Reuters, a senior White House official said the meeting will review security arrangements and procedures for large events in detail. However, despite the shooting, Trump and the White House have expressed confidence in the Secret Service's leadership.

Trump's security will be increased

Security experts believe that security at Trump's public events may be further tightened in the coming days. Measures such as installing bulletproof glass at his speech venues and stricter checkpoints at entry points are possible. However, this could lead to longer lines and longer wait times for attendees.

The attacker was brought to court in a blue jumpsuit

According to the New York Times, Allen, the shooting suspect, appeared in court in a blue jumpsuit. The judge announced that he faces charges including attempted assassination of the president, illegal use of a weapon, and attempted murder of a Secret Service agent.

Allen did not immediately respond to the allegations, but said he would answer all questions honestly. He also stated that he holds a master's degree in computer science.

The investigation also revealed that Allen traveled by train from California to Washington via Chicago. He booked a room at the same Washington Hilton hotel the day before the event and waited for his opportunity. Records indicate that he is an educated tutor and amateur video game developer.

Trump said – I am neither a rapist nor a pedophile

According to ANI, Trump responded to Allen's manifesto, saying he is not a rapist and has not sexually abused any children. In an interview with CBS News, Trump responded strongly to a question about the manifesto.

He said, "I knew the media would ask me these questions. So I was prepared to answer them. I've been linked to something that has nothing to do with me."

Tighter security than before, yet still a mistake

According to the Associated Press, the Washington Hilton Hotel, where the event was held, already had strict security measures in place under the direction of the Secret Service. According to hotel management, security was being handled under the supervision of the Secret Service, in coordination with local police and other agencies. Despite this, the attacker breached the security cordon, entered the hotel, and opened fire.
