News Topical, Digital Desk : The Bharatiya Janata Party has withdrawn the ticket of its female candidate, Pooja More Jadhav, from the Pune civic elections. Pooja More Jadhav was contesting from Ward No. 2 under the ally RPI's quota for the BMC elections, scheduled for January 15th.

Pooja Jadhav had received her AB form (a crucial document for filing nominations) from the BJP. However, after an old video of Pooja went viral on social media, her candidacy for the seat was withdrawn.

Old video of BJP candidate goes viral

A video of Pooja Jadhav, taken during the Maratha reservation movement, went viral on social media. In the video, Pooja appeared to make personal comments against Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and his wife. The emergence of this old video has engulfed Pooja's candidacy in controversy.

BJP cut the ticket

Union Minister and BJP MP from Pune, Murlidhar Mohol, confirmed that Pooja Jadhav had withdrawn her nomination. Pooja More Jadhav described herself as a victim of social media trolling following the incident.

"They spread false information about me and tried to portray me as not believing in the BJP's ideology. Given the trolling, I made the conscious decision to withdraw my nomination," Pooja said.

Pooja Jadhav also claimed that all these things about Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis were said by someone else, but these things were shown by linking them to his name.
