The AQI around Elphinstone Bridge in Prabhadevi, Mumbai, was recorded at 258, which is considered extremely harmful to health. The AQI in Mumbai gives an idea of ​​the rising pollution levels. Thus, breathing in Mumbai is equivalent to smoking five cigarettes per day.

A thick blanket of smog could be seen in several areas, including Prabhadevi and Worli. Pollution has cast a pall of gloom over Mumbai.

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has released the AQI index to measure the level of pollution.
