In Haryana's Charkhi Dadri, a young man was beaten to death on suspicion of eating beef. The incident took place on 27 August. A video of this incident also surfaced, in which some people are beating the young man with sticks. Bahujan Samaj Party's national president Mayawati has expressed displeasure over the incident.
Mayawati wrote on 'X', "The disease of mob lynching is not going to end. In the latest development, the brutal murder of a poor youth in Haryana's Charkhi Dadri on suspicion of eating beef puts humanity to shame and exposes the rule of law. This is extremely sad and condemnable. Strict action is necessary."
Called to the shop and beat him fiercely
Police arrested 7 accused in this case on 29 August, including two minors. The minors have been sent to a reformatory home. According to a senior police officer, Sabir Malik was murdered on 27 August. Based on the case registered, the officer said that five accused called Malik to a shop on the pretext of selling empty plastic bottles on suspicion of eating beef. He was beaten up badly there.
He was taken to another place and beaten again
The police have identified the accused as Abhishek, Mohit, Ravinder, Kamaljit and Sahil. The officer said that when the accused were beating him, some people intervened. After this, they took Sabir Malik to another place and beat him again there. This led to his death.
