News Topical, Digital Desk : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid tribute to the great Tamil philosopher and poet saint Thiruvalluvar on the occasion of 'Thiruvalluvar Day'. In a post shared on the social media platform X, PM Modi described Thiruvalluvar as an outstanding symbol of Tamil culture and urged the countrymen to read his timeless text 'Thirukkural'.
"He believed in a harmonious and compassionate society. He embodies the best of Tamil culture," Prime Minister Modi wrote in the post. “I urge all of you to read the Thirukkural, which offers a glimpse into the extraordinary wisdom of the great Thiruvalluvar.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on the social media platform 'X', "Today, on Thiruvalluvar Day, paying tribute to the versatile Thiruvalluvar, whose works and ideals inspire countless people. He believed that society should be filled with harmony and compassion.
Prime Minister Modi also shared a video of his speech on Thiruvalluvar. In it, he says that Saint Thiruvalluvar wrote, "Even in adverse circumstances, we should not be weakened. We should not run away from difficulties; instead, we should strengthen our minds and achieve our goals." Tamil Nadu is the land of the great saint Thiruvalluvar. Through his writings, Thiruvalluvar gave new direction to the youth and inspired them to move forward.
Prime Minister Modi further said in the video, "The great saint Thiruvalluvar had said hundreds of years ago that valour, honour, tradition of dignified behaviour and credibility, these four qualities are the reflection of any country's army."
