
News Topical, Digital Desk : Under Operation Track Back, the Crime Branch team recovered 265 expensive mobile phones and returned them to their owners as part of a campaign against stolen mobile phone smugglers and thieves. During this, the Crime Branch team arrested 29 accused and solved 72 cases related to stolen mobile phones.
According to Joint Commissioner of Police Crime Branch Surendra Singh, the Crime Branch organized Operation Track Back program at Delhi Police Headquarters on Monday. The program was presided over by Special Commissioner of Police Crime Devesh Chandra Srivastava.
Other dignitaries present included Additional Commissioners of Police Crime Sanjay Kumar Sain and Mangesh Kashyap, as well as all Deputy Commissioners of Police, Assistant Superintendents of Police and Inspectors of Crime Branch. Earlier on February 19, 2025, Operation Track Back program was organized in which 216 recovered mobile phones were handed over to their real owners.
Special Commissioner of Police (Crime) Devesh Chandra Srivastava appreciated the initiative and said that apart from solving heinous crimes, such efforts also bring happiness to common citizens. He motivated the Crime Branch team to continue such efforts with dedication and honesty.

A total of 265 stolen mobile phones were recovered and 29 accused were arrested, solving 72 cases.A team led by Inspector Gurmeet Singh conducted several raids in the last four months, resulting in recovery of 117 mobile phones from various accused.
On verification, it was found that out of the recovered mobile phones, 25 were linked to registered e-FIRs and 34 were linked to NCR/Last Reports registered in Delhi and other states. The SR team of Crime Branch arrested two accused namely Bharat alias Rawat and Rahul alias Kunal and recovered 40 stolen mobile phones.
