
News Topical, Digital Desk : Pakistani security forces killed eight militants who were trying to infiltrate Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Afghanistan's Kunar province.
This action took place in Loi Mamund tehsil of Bajaur district. Where intelligence agencies had received information that people of 'Fitna al-Khawarij' i.e. illegal Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were planning to cross the border.
Child injured in crossfire, treatment continues
An innocent child also got injured in this firing. He was immediately given first aid at Larkholojo Hospital, after which he was shifted to Khar District Headquarters Hospital for better treatment. The child's condition is now said to be stable.
Although the Pakistan Army's media cell, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), has not yet issued any official statement, locals have confirmed that fierce clashes lasted for several hours in the area. People said that sounds of firing were heard far and wide.
The action comes after a deadly bomb blast in Khar Tehsil last week, in which a government vehicle was targeted on July 2. Five people, including a Pakistani Assistant Commissioner and Tehsildar, were killed in that attack, while 17 people were injured, including four policemen.
